Tempus Fugit

Time Flies…

Hic locus est ubi mors gaudet succurrere vitae.

I do not have the hiccups….**

In the 15 minutes I spent looking for that ever so funky phrase which I have always managed to forget…… I stumbled across the most intriguing of sites….

The Dark Passage . A site of forensic archaeology. I LOVE old buildings. Not being one for superstition etc, I still believe there are powerful energies to be felt when wandering long forgotten hallways. As if each time we go somewhere…each time we enter a building, we leave a small piece of our ‘energy’ there. A small part of us that remains with the building forever.

So essentially, over a period of time, the energy of thousands of people build up. By the time a building reaches the derelect and decayed stage…it is powerfully charged with decades of emotions felt by the people that walked those hallways.

Of course it also stands to reason that if strong emotions are emitted by a person, then more of this emotional energy will be absorbed by a room or a hallway. Thus, certain places will retain and emit more energy than another. A mental hospital I guess will be more powerful than a boring office complex.

Okay okay…so maybe it’s all in my head, but I can’t help but feel affected by a building when I wander through it. Maybe it’s the power of suggestion in my head….but it’s there.

And so it’s always a great adventure to visit an old building and absorb and drink up the history that it has to tell.

Okay…sappy rant over now.

** For those of you who were wondering what on earth that latin rant in the title is all about….. Hic locus est ubi mors gaudet succurrere vitae. translates to Let Conversation Cease. Let Laughter Flee. This is the Place Where Death Delights To Help the Living. Which is often found in mortuaries where post mortems are conducted. I think it inspiring – it implies that through the death of this person, we the living human race learn a little bit more about ourselves.
