Time Flies…

w00t! w00t! w00t! w00t! w00t! w00t!

Am ecstatic this afternoon.

Woke around 4pm, stumbled out to kitchen to make coffee. Checked email…..

There’s an email from the School of Medicine saying that my grade had been reviewed from last year and subsequently changed.

I logged onto SI-net to discover my grade had been upgraded….TO A SEVEN!!!!!!! woooooohooooo!

This would only be the second time I’ve EVER gotten a seven in the entire Eight years I have been at university.

(For those who aren’t familiar with UQ’s grading system, you get graded from 1 to 7. You get a One if you write your name on your paper, a two if you answer the paper but get it wrong. A three is a conceded pass. A four is a pass, five is a credit, six is a distinction and seven is a high distinction).

Okay so now I have managed to contain myself, I think I have to say that this grade points out some SEVERE deficiencies in the marking system and the way the School of Medicine assesses people. I know how much (or how little) I did last year…let’s hope this year they actually examine us properly…so that they’re only graduating people who actually know some stuff.

It took me two years to get my first 7, and what does my sister go and do? Get one first semester, first year. DAMN HER!!!!!

Hey, that’s awesome!!!! Well done my good man!
Now for something depressing – my sister’s GPA at UQ is 6.9.
    Have a nice day.

A GPA of 6.9….That’s WAY too much work done. Unless they’re naturally brilliant.

What is it about smart sisters…mine has way more sevens than I do also…
