NaNoWriMo….National Novel Writing Month. I first heard about it last year when I was taking a break from the second-year-study-slog. I must have been mid-november because I remember thinking…. what a wonderful idea! And of course I promptly forgot about it until yesterday.

Yesterday….I was speaking to Juanita about life among other things and into my head pops NaNoWriMo.

So I have a look today to find out when it was happening. And what ho… it starts tonight.

So what the fuck am I talking about? Well the idea is to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of november.

Why?

Well because if you never start, you’ll never get anywhere. So while it may be absolute trollop, the aim is to get a story of 50,000 words down and recieve a personal sense of achievment.

Next year I intend to be overseas at this time. So what better time than now. I am on an island in the middle of nowhere….with plenty of time on my hands….

Okay so sure there’s a journal of achievement that needs to be kept for rural rotation, plus the presentation, plus the allied health assignment. Plus there’s an exam in four weeks….

But nothing like a bit of pressure.

I may last only a day before giving up. I may only make 2000 words. Who knows. But time will tell.

So there may or may not be many entries here for the next month. Depending how much procrastin8ion occurs.
