Yes folks guess what time it is……

Well it’s 0200 for a start. And that means there is 10.5 hours left until my exam…..for GP…..worth 50%…..and I have literally done less than an hour’s study for the wretched thing. I simply cannot motivate. Why oh why oh why oh why oh why?

Fucked if I know. Fact is I guess I am hoping to get away with the usual.

That is……WING IT!! and hope for the best.

I sincerely hope that it’s a management interview. Otherwise I suspects I am rooted.

Problem is…it’s like 50% of the mark for the rotation…which is effectively 5% of the overall mark for clinical years. So that’s like 2.5%.

Yes yes I know… it’s 20% of the year per rotation…which makes the exam worth 10% of the year.

Well I guess I will just have to attempt to charm the socks off them. Eeek. I so should be nervous.

Jezza’s first rule of examination: Poor performance on an exam is inversely proportional to the nervousness and nausea felt prior to an exam

In other words… I’m fucked. I am so fucked I dont’ realise I am fucked. And so I don’t know what kind of shit I am going to get myself into.

I have spent the last couple of days watching DVDs…..I watched Rules of Attraction (Written and Directed by Roger Avery) which is based on a book by Bret Easton Ellis. He also wrote American Psycho and Glamorama.

I was so impressed with the movie that I watched the three different audio commentaries that came with the movie.

I found out that Roger Avary has a website: Avery’s Domain. Among other things it has the script for Rules of Attraction – so I downloaded it.

Funnily enough seeing how the film was made and reading Roger’s blog it once again incited a flame of enthusiasm in me to pursue my interest in the film industry. I’d love to write and shoot a thing or two.

Will see what I can muster when I have this rotten GP exam out of the way.

Speaking of films…. Garden State is the film that was written and directed and starred in by Zach Braff – JD off scrubs. I am again inspired that someone can write something and convince someone to invest money into it to make it into a film. It premiere’s in December in Australia I thinks. Can’t wait to see it.

Speaking of Film-Making…… The ShootOut is a 24 hour film-making festival being held in Toowoomba in October. I thinks I might have to thinks about going in it….. We’ll see….depends on how up to a challenge I am feeling and who I can muster……Stay tuned.

Which brings me to Med Rotation and NURHC. Stupid med rotation people won’t let me change my exam…so I am not going to NURHC.

But as it happens…..both the Toowoomba Formal Dinner is on….and the ShootOut Festival.

So I thinks as fate would have it, I am supposed to be in Toowoomba.

Eeek. 10 hours to go….and I have just wasted another half hour of not studying… Grr.
